The EU supports investments in renewable energy
The European Investment Bank (EIB) has approved a total of €8 billion for investment projects in energy efficiency, renewable energy and strategic energy infrastructure.
These projects may benefit from the European Fund for Strategic Investments (EFSI), which is a part of the Investment Plan for Europe.
The EIB is ready to make the energy sector one of the key concerns of the Investment Plan for Europe.
The projects include energy efficiency investments to reduce heating bills in private homes in France, new renewable energy and transmission links in Northern and Western Europe, industrial energy use reduction in Finland, and improvements in gas transmission in Spain.
