Mobility for researchers

We support cross-border mobility of researchers from the Czech research environment into international structures, and also vice versa. We inform about the internship opportunities for young researchers.

We aim to enrich Czech research teams of scientists with the international experience. We update on current study, research and employment mobility opportunities across the EU Member States and other countries.
Should you have any further queries, do not hesitate to contact us. We are happy to help you with your choice according to individual parameters.

Postdoctoral position in Thermal Energy Storage for Building Applications

Chalmers University of Technology

Chalmers University of Technology

This project aims at developing practical tools for integrated planning of solutions for demand side management of thermal energy for heating and cooling of buildings. Efforts invested in improvement of energy efficiency of buildings have made low-grade thermal energy surpluses more pronounced at various temporal and spatial scales in urban areas. Internal heat gains resulting from occupants’ activities in buildings, solar heat gains and free cooling by night ventilation are examples of low-grade thermal energy sources that could be utilized to shift the peak demands in both single buildings but also between the buildings through thermal grids. Solutions can be found in intermediate storage of thermal energy in the building’s structure, accumulator tanks or ground heat storage systems.

Postdoctor in Energy System modelling

KTH Royal Institute of Technology

1 year
KTH Royal Institute of Technology

The envisaged research will be conducted in the context of a recently awarded Horizon 2020 European research project, aiming to build an open source toolbox for the modeling of integrated energy systems. The toolbox will be modular and adaptable, making it suitable for both detailed modelling of complex features in energy systems as well as for large-scale problems. The adaptability comes from a design where the input data defines the temporal, spatial, technological, regulatory and sectoral dimensions of the model instance. A series of case studies will further be conducted, to expand specific modelling capabilities and to deploy the toolbox to potential users.
