Benchmarking Energy Efficiency in Cities

In a joint effort to gather scientific knowledge and expertise, the Institute for Energy and Transport (IET) of the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission and Politecnico di Torino are organising the scientific workshopBenchmarking Energy Efficiency in Cities.
Experts from Europe, European cities and worldwide organizations are invited to share expectations and initial results of specific techniques as well as findings from direct experience in European cities and urban areas.

The aim of this workshop (WS) is to address the use of benchmarking techniques in energy efficiency field as a management tool in the context of municipal and local community actions towards sustainability. Furthermore, the WS will try to respond what are the best methodologies and tools to measure urban energy efficiency in cities, i.e. benchmarking.

Main sessions will regard: monitoring and benchmarking energy efficiency in cities as well as databases, methodologies and GIS based tools for assessing energy efficiency.
Speakers will include representatives of international organizations, universities and research centres, the EU, national and local governments.
